5-27-09 Weigh-In and Catch-Up

Body Fat Percentage: 35.6%

Well the long stay at my parents sent my weight up, bleh, that’s what I get for deciding that I would have a two week break from the diet. It’s the first time that a weight increase has taken me into the red on physics diet. Even worse, proof that it is real, the body fat percentage went up commensurately.

Anyways as you might have guessed I went to my parents house to visit for a couple weeks. I helped out around the house and did a few things for them that they needed help for.

It was disturbing how easily I fell back into old habits of eating so much. I am quite disappointed with myself. Well here is hoping that this summer adding in exercise will accelerate the weight loss enough to make up for what I gained in the last two weeks.

5/10/09 Food Diary

Morning:
Meijer Fruit Bowl ~ 380 Calories
Mid-Afternoon:
1 Serving Special K crackers ~ 120 Calories
Evening:
Rice and Tofu ~ 773 Calories
Total: 1273 Calories

Well I have broken the streak of not adhering to the diet, though I fear that will change. I am driving to visit my parents for two weeks tomorrow. Since I won’t be doing much of the cooking I am guessing that the food will be more dense in terms of calories. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to be more careful.

Speaking of visiting the folks I am going to warn what few readers I have that there is a decent chance that updates will be sparse these next few weeks, my parents only have a dial up connection.

05/10/09 Massive Catch Up On Everything

I return! Somewhat alive. I haven’t been posting lately because finals have been dragging me down. I took what is (in grad school at least) a really heavy load and I got bitten hard by that last week. I had so much to do.  I had to grade papers for the advanced lab, I had to get two general relativity homework assignments done, I had to get a general relativity final done, and I had to get the statistical thermodynamics final done. That last one was especially rough, I spent almost 30 hours on it. YUCK.

Anyways rather than trying to post a bunch of back dated articles, I will simply summarize the results here.

05/02 Food Diary

Morning:
1 Serving homemade stirfry ~ 504 Calories
3 cups of soymilk ~ 240 Calories
Noon:
Healthy Choice Chicken Margherita ~ 320 Calories
1 Boiled Egg ~ 90 Calories
Evening:
1 too large serving of what the heck melange ~ 505 Calories
Total: 1659 Calories

Well I am pretty pissed at myself for eating so much above my limit today. I cooked up a big batch of something I am calling what the heck melange which is a combination of all sorts of things. I did this to use up some of the perishables floating around in my fridge that would go bad when the semester is over and I visit my parents for two weeks. There was enough of it that it made 8 portions plus a little more fairly well. Unfortunately I ate one whole portion plus that little extra, so I am a bit pissed with myself. Oh well, we shall see what it did to me tomorrow.

The weight is coming down some more, yay.

I was good today, I managed to come 67 calories under the limit.

Well I stayed below 300 at least. That has to be worth something.

1 Serving Homemade Stir-fry ~ 504 Calories
Vanilla Tofu Pudding ~ 230 Calories
Total: 1244 Calories

Came in under the limit today. And the new stir-fry I cooked is tasty. No meat which is a little disappointing but oh well. Slightly different technique made it turn out well.
